But let me tell you my own personal experience’s….
Main Ingredients for the Master Cleanse Recipe
· Pure Filtered Water
· Grade B Organic Maple Syrup, Formaldehyde free (expensive)
· Organic Cayenne Pepper
· Organic Lemons
· Sea salt – Unrefined, (Not iodized) or Epsom Salt
· Laxative tea
· Natural Herbal Tea (decaffeinated)
In the morning you start off with a big glass of salt water. This was supposed make me (well for lighter terms) go to the restroom, but that didn’t happen. Then throughout the day I drank a concoction of fresh lemons, maple syrup and cayenne pepper with water. I drank this three times a day and as you can imagine, it tasted awful. I also periodically drank tea.
The website also states the benefits of doing the master cleanse:
– You will save money on food (obviously)
-Through the roof energy (never happened for me, in fact I usually went to bed by 7pm because I was so tired)
– Kicking bad habits like eating junk food (It just made me want it more)
– Cleanse your body (I did feel cleaner on the inside)
– Fast results (I lost 4 lbs. in 3 days)
They recommend doing this for 7 days, however I lasted 0nly 3 days. Not eating drove me crazy and I put the weight right back on. Since I am looking for a fast short cut to weight loss, I moved on to another cleanse.
Coach Mary Jane talks about the Shakeology cleanse.
1 Shakeology shake per day
2 cups of green tea or oolong per day
1 or 2 pieces of fruit per day (optional)
1 hearty salad for lunch and a healthy well balanced dinner
No dairy or extra sugars
Drink 2 to 4 liters of water every day (50% of your body weight in ounces at a minimum)
Only use low-fat (vinegar based non dairy) dressings, and go easy on the salt and/or pepper to taste
2 snacks before/after any of the major meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
For maximum results, do NOT use additives
Dinner may include WHITE GRILLED PROTEIN-poultry or fish only
Avoid milks (NO soy, rice or sweetened milk ) unsweetened almond or coconut milk is ok once a day
Avoid coffee, sugar and artificial sweeteners
For flavor add lemon, vanilla, cinnamon, no sodium seasonings
Again I was only about to do it for 3 days. There are options for a 3 day or 7 day Shakeology plan. The only difference is on the 3-day plan I had a shake for breakfast, one for lunch and one for either a snack or after dinner. You have the option to eat a light healthy dinner that includes the same as above and vegetables.
The 3-day Shakeology cleanse worked well for me. I felt that the 3 days was doable and I did noticeably feel better. Being able to eat made a huge difference and in fact I I wasn’t even hungry. My 9-year-old daughter even did it with me!
Long lasting weight loss comes with changing your lifestye. You have to lose weight in a way that will be easy for you to maintain, if it’s not, you will end up reverting right back to your old habits. Just focus on changing one thing at a time….
