When I was at my heaviest weight, I was literally categorized as a Diet-Coke-Aholic! I would literally drink 2- 2 liters of it a day! It gave me energy to get stuff done and stay awake during the day.

See, when you are overweight (like I was) it just takes so much more energy to do everyday tasks, like clean your house, make dinner and go to work...

I always drank Diet Coke, but a lot of women believe that if you switch from regular pop (soda) to diet that will help... And that is simply not true.​

​Diet pop- Instead of sugar, they are sweetened with artificial sweeteners like aspartame, cyclamate, saccharin, acesulfame-k or sucralose.

Almost every popular sugar-sweetened beverage on the market has a "light" or a "diet" version -- Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Pepsi Max, Sprite Zero, etc.

Diet sodas were first introduced in the 1950s for people with diabetes, though they were later marketed to people trying to control their weight or reduce their sugar intake.

​To break my Diet Coke Obsession, I made up my own rule.... If this, than that! What does that mean? As humans, we develop habits. The habits we form dictate how we function day to day. They literally rule our daily actions. So the If this, than that rule is basically if you do this then you do that.

To break my habit, I would allow a can of Diet Coke, then before I had another, I HAD to drink a 20 ounce bottle of water. Rinse and repeat. The next week I would increase it to 2- 20 ounce bottles​, etc...

​Even though there is still artificial sweetener in a pack of Crystal Light, it is still a better way for you to transition to rid pop from your diet. You can also add fruit, veggies,etc... To improve the taste of your H2O. Or try these...

Drink black coffee...

​0 calories. No artificial sweeteners. Boosts your energy. Black coffee helps in rapid weight loss by making you work out more if you have it 30 minutes before you hit the gym. This is why a trainer sometimes asks you to drink coffee before your session!

​Even though there are conflicting studies out there that that make you question if pop (especially diet) are bad for you, I have found that when I drink it, I get hungrier. I used to drink 2- 2 liters a day... Now I can hardly even drink a 20 ounce bottle. 

I start feeling hungry (I mean hangry!) and that is not good for weight loss or even maintaining! ​
